Teams, Rosters, and Leagues

A short model of Heir, with one example you can use throughout the guides.

You manage your players once as a Team, then decide which Leagues to enter. Each League gets its own Roster.

One Team, two Leagues

Imagine The Vanguard has seven Members. It enters a League with five seats and another with six. The Team is the same group, but the Leagues have different Rosters, eligibility, availability, and competition history.

TermPlain-language meaning
TeamYour independent group of players, led by one Captain.
LeagueThe competition running its rules, schedules, and standings.
EnrollmentThe relationship that lets a Team compete in a League. An Organizer may need to approve it.
RosterThe players representing the Team in one League. Every active Roster is derived from a Team through an approved Enrollment.
PriorityThe order used to choose Team Members for available seats; 1 is first.
SeatA place on a League Roster. Eligibility and Priority decide who fills it.
Game serverThe machine running the game. Its RCON connection is separate from Discord.
IdentityYour linked game account, such as a Mordhau PlayFab ID or a verified Steam account.

Who owns each decision?

  • Team Captain: invites Members, orders Priority, changes the Team profile, and requests Enrollments.
  • League Owner / Organizer: sets competition rules and roster size, reviews Enrollments, schedules matches, and manages results.
  • Roster Captain: manages the League Roster's availability and supported competition actions. This may be the highest-priority rostered Member if the Team Captain is not rostered.
  • Discord manager: approves and maintains the Heir installation and its Discord permissions. This does not automatically transfer League ownership.

A Free Agent is a League Member who does not currently hold a Roster seat. It is a status, not an extra role you need to claim before playing.

Competition words

A Fixture is a scheduled matchup. A Match is the competition result or recorded series. A Game is one map within tracked play, and a Round is a round within a supported game mode. A Tournament organizes its own field and progression. A Season groups League history and standings.
