Create a League

Set up your competition on the web, then connect Discord and game servers when you need them.

Who this is for
People starting and owning a League
When you’re done
Your League exists on Heir and you can open its management page.

A League runs competitions. If you only want a group to play together, create a Team instead—you do not need your own League to enter someone else's.

1. Sign in

Open Create your League and sign in with Discord. Your Discord account identifies you on Heir; connecting a Discord to the League is a separate, optional step.

2. Describe the League

Choose the League name, game, regions, roster size, and competition settings in the guided setup. The setup form accepts a 2–48 character League name using letters, numbers, and single spaces. If you choose Other / not listed, enter a 2–48 character game name; that option supports League features but has no in-game stat tracking.

The current defaults are Mordhau, NA, roster size 10, Sunday match nights, and the game's default series format. Mordhau defaults to three maps to win (Best of 5), Chivalry: Medieval Warfare to two (Best of 3), and Other to two (Best of 3). Select at least one region; Free includes one region, Pro three, and Ultimate has no region cap. Match nights can be cleared when you want to schedule manually. Roster size accepts 1–10 players.

A League uses one game. The game choice is fixed after activation; creating another League is the way to run a different game. Discord Roster roles start in Individual Roster roles mode; a League Owner can choose the shared On a Team role during the post-install checks or later.

3. Review the plan and create

Review the plan and create the League. You can start on Free; paid-plan checkout is a separate payment step. Follow the confirmation in Heir rather than treating a pending or failed checkout as proof that no League was created.

When creation succeeds, check that your League appears on your dashboard and that you can open Manage League as its Owner.

4. Connect Discord when ready

A Discord integration is optional. Use the League's Discord management section to connect it, then follow the installation and permission checks. See Connect a Discord.

Team webhooks can post to the same Discord as a League bot; they are configured independently.

Everyone joins your League on purpose, so configure Membership next: decide whether joining requires membership in your Discord (on by default) and a linked game identity, then select a channel for the Join message. Connecting a Discord does not add its members to the League. See Configure League membership.

5. Prepare for competition

  1. Set the regions, roster size, and Enrollment policy in General and Rosters & enrollments.
  2. Review incoming Team Enrollments. Approval derives each Team’s League Roster; standalone creation is no longer supported.
  3. Ask Captains to set Roster availability.
  4. Configure Competition, then publish a schedule or run a tournament.
  5. Connect supported game servers if you want automatic tracking.

Running without Discord

A web-only League still runs competitions and supported game-server tracking in full. Members can use Join this league on its web page. Discord commands and channel/DM announcements require a Discord connection; RCON observation itself does not.

If setup stops

Return to the setup page with the same account and check whether the League already exists before creating another one. Read any pending-action or payment status. For role, permission, or bot-install problems, use the Discord troubleshooting guide.

League deletion, removing a Discord installation, and leaving a Team are different actions. Read the specific confirmation rather than using one as a shortcut for another.
