Create a Team
Create an independent Team on heir.gg, then invite Members and choose where to compete.

A Team is your group of players. It can compete in more than one League. Creating a Team does not create a League or enroll you in a competition.
Before you start
- Sign in with the Discord account you want to use on Heir.
- Choose a Team name. You can change its profile later.
- You do not need to install the bot or own a Discord to create a Team.
1. Open Teams
Go to Your Teams. Teams you captain and Teams you joined are listed separately, and your Captain count/limit appears beside Create a Team. Choose Create a Team. You can also open the creation page directly.
2. Set your Team's identity
Enter a Team name (up to 35 characters). Optionally add:
- A Tag: 2–8 letters or digits, displayed beside your name.
- A URL handle: the readable part of
heir.gg/teams/your-handle(3–32 characters, starting with a lowercase letter and using lowercase letters, digits, and dashes; it must be available). - One colour, or two colours for a gradient.
The form explains invalid or unavailable values next to the field. Correct those before continuing. Team names are normalized to single spaces and cannot use reserved service names such as Organizer, Captain, or Free Agent.
Choose Team page visibility before creating it: Public lets anyone view the lineup and League enrollments; Hidden limits those details to Team members. Other visitors see the Team identity and aggregate counts. You can change this later in Manage Team → Profile.
3. Create the Team
Choose Create the Team. Wait for the success confirmation. Heir opens your Team's management page, where you are the Captain at Priority 1.
4. Invite Members
In Manage Team → Members, invite your players. They must accept before they appear as Members. See Invite and manage Members.
5. Choose a League
When you are ready, open Manage Team → Leagues → Enroll in a League. Enrollment is a separate step and may need an Organizer's approval. Follow Enroll your Team.
If you get stuck
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| You cannot create another Team | A User may captain up to five live Teams. Transfer captaincy or disband a Team you no longer need. |
| The name or handle is rejected | Follow the field's validation message; try an available name or handle. |
| You can view the Team but not manage it | Make sure you signed in with its Captain's Discord account. |
| You expected a League Roster to appear | Create the Team first, then request an Enrollment. Approval creates or adopts the League Roster. |
About Discord commands
/create-team now replies with the app creation link and this guide; it never creates a standalone League Roster. Manage independent Teams on the website; a Team webhook can post selected notifications to Discord.
