Accounts and game identities

Use one Discord-authenticated Heir account and link the right identity for each game.

Sign in to heir.gg with Discord. Use the same Discord account for your Team invitations, League Memberships, and game-identity links.

Your account versus your roles

Your account identifies you. What you may do depends on the specific Team or League: a Team Captain does not automatically organize a League, and a League Organizer does not automatically captain its independent Teams.

The signed-in home page is your dashboard. Your Teams contains Teams and invitations; Settings contains your profile and linked identities.

Signing in and your saved Discord access

You sign in to Heir with Discord. Separately, Settings keeps your saved Discord access, which some actions need before Heir can carry them out on Discord for you. If an action asks you to reconnect, follow the prompt in Settings and try it again.

Signing in from another browser or device is normal and does not disturb anything: your saved Discord access belongs to your account and stays shared across browsers.

Sign out ends the session in the browser you are using. It leaves your account, your other browsers' sessions, and your saved Discord access alone.

Disconnect saved Discord access applies to your whole account, so every browser stops having it. Your current Heir session, your League Memberships, and your history all stay as they are. Reconnect from Settings before any later action that needs it.

Choose the name shown on Heir

Heir uses one name consistently across League player lists, Team Memberships, pickers, profiles, tournament Roster snapshots, exports, and Discord responses:

  1. Your optional Heir nickname, when you set one.
  2. Your current Discord username otherwise.
  3. A short Player #### fallback only when Discord has not supplied a username.

Open Settings → Profile to add, change, or clear your nickname. Nicknames are 2–32 characters and accept letters, numbers, spaces, and basic punctuation. They use the same public-text validation and word filtering as other names on Heir. Clearing the field returns every current view to your Discord username.

A Discord server nickname and an in-game display name do not override this canonical User name. Discord usernames refresh when Heir observes the account or you sign in again; a Heir nickname remains until you change it.

Follow Link your game identity: Mordhau uses a PlayFab ID, while Chivalry: Medieval Warfare uses a verified Steam sign-in.

Heir associates observations by the canonical identity, not by a matching display name. Recorded history may become associated with you after linking, but a link cannot reconstruct games that were never observed.

Each credential has one account-level link. Mordhau PlayFab IDs are title-specific; a SteamID64 is verified through Steam. Linking a different value replaces the previous link for that credential after validation, and unlinking starts propagation of the removal to your League records.

Check that you are signed in to the intended Discord account before linking or unlinking. If an identity is already claimed, ask a League Organizer to inspect it; do not create duplicate accounts to work around the conflict. The identity reference explains provider scope and administrative tools.

Public and private surfaces

Player and Team profiles can be public. Account settings, invitations, and management actions require appropriate authentication and authorization. Search-engine indexing preferences are not access control; see Profiles.
