Manage a League

Find settings by task and understand Owner, Organizer, Captain, and Discord permissions.

Open your League and choose Manage League, or open heir.gg/<league>/manage. Owners and Organizers see the sections they are authorized to use.

Who can do what

RoleResponsibility
League OwnerOwns the League account; manages billing, ownership transfer, deletion, Discord connection state, and all ordinary League operations.
OrganizerManages authorized League settings, Rosters/Enrollments, competition, results, and League eligibility. Organizers cannot change billing, ownership, the League Discord connection, or Discord Roster-role mode.
Team CaptainManages their independent Team and requests its Enrollments.
Roster CaptainManages the Roster's availability and permitted competition actions.
Discord manager / administratorManages Discord installation and command visibility; Heir still applies its own action checks.

League ownership is not automatically transferred when Discord ownership changes. Use Heir's explicit ownership controls and read their confirmation.

Organizer access lives in Heir

Only the League Owner grants and removes Organizer access, in Heir, whether or not the League is connected to Discord.

  • A connected League mirrors its current Organizers down to a Discord role. Adding that Discord role by hand does not make anyone an Organizer in Heir, and removing it by hand does not take Organizer access away.
  • Deleting the Discord Organizer role changes nobody's Heir permissions. Heir recreates the role when its Discord permissions allow, then restores the role for current Organizers. A recreated role carries no server permissions: the Owner must reapply any custom channel permissions and command visibility that the deleted role had.
  • When the mirror needs attention — for example a missing Manage Roles permission, a role Heir cannot edit, or no free role slots — League settings report it and keep retrying. Heir grants stay intact while it is blocked.
  • Free Agent and Captain roles keep following membership changes, including while a failed Roster role change is still waiting to be repaired.
  • Ending someone's League membership clears their Organizer access.

Controls depend on the League, plan, integration, and your role. Save changes and wait for confirmation; a pending operation is not yet proof of completion.

Membership

Set your joining requirements under Membership. Every new Member chooses to join; Discord presence alone never adds anyone. You can require membership in the associated Discord — enabled by default for Discord-integrated Leagues — and a linked game identity. Existing Members and their history are preserved when these settings change. Follow Configure League membership for requirements, the Join message, leaving, and bans.

Joining the League and joining an independent Team are separate. Share Join a League with people completing the League's requirements.

Enrollments

Captains request entry from Manage Team → Leagues. Organizers review under Rosters & enrollments, including the actual seat preview and any Member displacement in a claim. Follow Review an Enrollment.

Owners and Organizers can also block or restore a player's League eligibility. This is separate from removing independent Team membership or suspending a whole Enrollment.

Game server tracking

League defaults live in Stat tracking above the game-server list. Each game server exposes its own Game server overrides with a count chip. Resetting a field removes that override and restores inheritance. Search/filter the list and use the heading's configured/maximum count to check capacity.

Follow Connect a game server for setup and the distinction between connection health and recording activity.

The Discord health check

Use Discord connection diagnostics when installation, role position, bot permissions, or configured channels need attention. Follow the reported correction, then check again. Some owner-sensitive controls are only shown to the authorized owner/Discord manager.

Urgent bot-permission incidents appear in the bell, dashboard, and Inbox, with owner/staff DMs when enabled. They remain until verified fixed. Use Update bot permissions. Slash commands check your current Heir role and need no separate command-access grant.

For role capacity and safe cleanup, follow Configure Discord Roster roles. The shared On a Team role represents current League Seats, not every Team Member.

A visible command is not proof that the caller may execute it. See Command permissions. If slash commands time out while joins/role events keep appearing, include that distinction in your support report.

Shouts

Discord channel settings include a dedicated Scores channel for final League results and Elo changes, separate from Stat events. They also route tournament, prediction, Roster leaderboard, and stat leaderboard announcements where supported. Turning an announcement category off stops those posts; it does not erase standings or results. Check the configured channel and delivery status before repeatedly performing the original action. See score announcement settings.

Reports and long lists

Reports downloads run to the end of the data they cover, within Heir's export limits, so a CSV or JSON file is not silently truncated. If a report is too large or the system is busy, the download explains why it cannot proceed instead of producing a partial file.

Long lists page rather than stopping at a fixed cut-off. Player lists, rated-player lists, and older schedule weeks all load more entries on request; the League's player list additionally keeps your page after you reload. Selection menus let you search people, Teams, Rosters, Leagues, and Discord channels. The navigation menu searches and loads more Leagues; if a load fails, the entries already on screen stay visible and a retry is offered — staying visible during a failed load is not the same as being restored after a reload. A list still loading is not an empty list, and a dashboard section that fails to load leaves the rest of the dashboard usable.

Billing and subscriptions

Settings → Billing lists the Leagues you own or pay for, with subscription status, billing periods, and any scheduled plan change. Leagues you merely joined do not appear there. Plan controls, payment methods, invoices, and cancellation all open from Settings, and free or granted access is shown distinctly from a paid subscription. A former Owner who still pays can cancel the subscription after confirming what cancelling affects.

Use the League's branding controls for Discord, YouTube, and X links where the plan permits them. Enter real destination links and follow inline validation. The current plan determines whether those controls are available.

Results and seasons

Use Report or correct a result for match changes and Ratings and Elo for season behavior. Competition operations can affect more than the visible row; read confirmations before voiding results or ending a season.

Ownership and removal

Read the exact operation's confirmation. Deleting a League, uninstalling its Discord bot, removing a Team webhook, and withdrawing an Enrollment have different scopes. Destructive deletion may remove League-owned data and integration resources; do not use it to fix a missing player seat or stale connection.
