Connect a game server

Add RCON details, choose a tracking profile, and verify what Heir is recording.

When you’re done
The game server is observed and its tracking activity matches your intended setup.

Before you start

You need a supported game server's public host, RCON port, and RCON password. The RCON port may differ from the port players use to join. Ask your hosting provider if you do not control these settings.

A League does not need a Discord connection for Heir to observe a game server. Discord integration adds commands and announcements; it is not the game server connection itself.

1. Open Stats & game servers

Open Manage League → Stats & game servers. The Game servers heading shows how many you have against your plan allowance. Search by label, address, or map, or filter by status when managing several hosts.

2. Add the connection

Choose Add server. Enter a short label, public host, RCON port, and password. Save and wait for Heir's confirmation. The saved password is encrypted and is not displayed back to you.

3. Set League defaults and overrides

The Stat tracking section above the game-server list contains League defaults. Each game's card has Game server overrides, with a chip counting explicit overrides.

Choose a profile:

ProfileUse it for
Match trackingQualifying team matches and, when explicitly allowed, Mordhau Deathmatch combat totals.
Duel trackingObserved combat totals without a team-size floor or inferred duel results.
Presence onlyConnected human time without combat or match statistics.

For team modes, choose the expected format, minimum players per side, allowed gamemodes, and whether casual recording is allowed. Six players on one side and four on the other do not satisfy a five-per-side floor. Use Reset to League default to remove a local override.

4. Verify health and activity separately

Online means Heir can observe the connection. It does not mean a qualifying match is recording.

  • IDLE: read the reason—waiting for players, excluded mode, or waiting for activity.
  • VERIFYING: mode detection is unresolved.
  • TRACKING: recording has started; competitive/casual classification is still pending.
  • TRACKING-COMP / TRACKING-CASUAL: the stated recording category is established.
  • TRACKING-DUEL / PRESENCE ONLY: the selected standalone profile is operating.

Check the map and observation timestamp. A stale snapshot is the last known observation, not proof of current activity. Check status shows Heir's own latest connection result; refreshing the page does not make Heir contact the game server again.

5. Verify a recorded outcome

For team matches, check the live match and then the completed game, classification, and approval state. For duel/Deathmatch combat, check the separate combat totals in management. Link identities before expecting stats on the correct Player profile.

See technical tracking reference for supported modes, sampling limits, fixtures, and monitoring gaps. Use troubleshooting if the connection does not become healthy.
