Configure League membership

Open Manage League → Membership. Membership requirements are separate from Team Enrollments and Roster capacity.
Everyone joins on purpose
Joining a League is always the player's choice. People open the League's invitation page, complete whatever that League requires, and choose Join. Being present in the League's Discord never adds anyone to the League on its own, and Heir does not import a Discord's member list into your League.
Members who joined before this change keep their membership and their history. You do not need to re-invite them.
Configure the requirements
Require membership in our Discord is enabled by default for Discord-integrated Leagues. Disable it if you want people outside the Discord to be able to join the League. Their Heir sign-in remains required.
Require linked game identity makes new Members complete the identity for the League's configured game. The same setting continues to govern Roster eligibility; it is not a second identity requirement to configure elsewhere.
Changing a requirement preserves existing Members and their history. New joins follow the current requirements. Existing Roster eligibility still follows the League's rules, so preserving membership does not promise an unchanged Roster Seat.
Post the Join message
Select a regular text or announcement channel that the bot can use. Heir posts the League's name, game, and Join button there. It does not automatically mention @everyone or crosspost the message.
Save the configuration, then check the announcement's delivery status. A queued message has not necessarily appeared in Discord yet. Follow the available recovery action if the channel, permissions, or message needs attention; avoid repeatedly reposting a message whose delivery is still uncertain.
If you change the channel or remove the message, return to Membership to check the saved destination and delivery status.
Help someone who has not finished joining
Someone who signed in or linked an identity but never selected Join is not a Member yet. Share the League's Join link; the invitation page resumes where they left off, and unfinished onboarding grants none of a Member's permissions or Roster eligibility.
If the invitation page cannot load a person's membership status, the League's details stay visible and a countdown with a retry control appears. A closed or deleted League explains on the same page why joining is unavailable.
Leaving, bans, and Seats
Members can leave a League from the League itself. Leaving preserves their history and any independent Team membership. A League Owner must first resolve ownership and any continuing subscription responsibility before leaving.
Owners and Organizers can ban and unban players. A ban ends the person's membership and releases the Roster Seat it supported. Unbanning lets that player join again; it does not rejoin them, and no repair or synchronization action re-admits someone who left or was banned.
Only eligible League Members can hold a Roster Seat, so a departed or banned player no longer blocks an eligible teammate from taking the Seat.
For player instructions, share Join a League.
